How to apply for the e-PAN card?

This facility helps taxpayers paying income tax for the first time to get an instant electronic PAN card.

You can apply for the e-PAN card by visiting the website. This facility has been introduced free of charge for a fixed time, but keep in mind that only those people who are paying tax for the first time and do not have a PAN card can apply for it.

Those who already have a PAN card cannot apply for it.

You can apply for the e-PAN card in the following way -


  • To apply for the e-PAN card, first of all, visit the website UTIITSL.
  • On the home page of UTIITSL, you will get the option of PAN card service, click on it.
  • Click on apply for PAN card. Here you can choose the option of hard copy of PAN card ie both physical PAN card and e-PAN card or only e-PAN card.
  • Fill the details of your Aadhaar card number and other personal information.
  • Verify the information and click Submit.
  • Submit the scan copy of the Aadhaar card as ID proof.
  • Submit a scanned copy of your signature. Its size should be as follows.

    1. The resolution should be 200 dpi.
    2. The size is 10 KB.
    3. The dimension should be 2 cm * 4.5 cm.
    4. The file must be in JPEG format.

  • After this, the application process was completed. Now you will get the enrollment number on e-mail and mobile.
  • After this, when your e-PAN card is generated, you will receive information through e-mail and SMS.
  • You can find out the status of your e-PAN card by using the enrollment number.

Eligibility for e-PAN card

The same person can apply for an e-PAN card, which fulfills the following eligibility criteria -


  1. You are a resident of India.
  2. Be an individual taxpayer and not a member of the HUF.
  3. PAN card should not be there.
  4. The person should have an Aadhaar card.
  5. Your mobile number should be linked to Aadhaar number and all information about Aadhar card should be updated.

How to know the status of the e-PAN card?

The card is usually issued within 15 days after applying for a PAN card. You can get information about this by tracking the status of the PAN card. You can use the 15-digit enrollment number found during the application. 

To know the status of the PAN card, you have to visit the website of NSDL or UTI. Here you can track the status as well as improve the PAN card or update it. You can also get the status of your PAN card by SMS or by calling the landline number.

You can download the e-PAN card by visiting the website of NSDL and UTI.

Go to the website and log in by entering the enrollment number and captcha and provide your details and click on download e-PAN card.

You can also download the e-PAN card by following your date of birth and instructions.

  • Go to UTIITSL's website.
  •  Click on e-PAN download.
  • Follow the guidelines and fill in the required information.

After this, you can download the e-PAN card.
